Tobi J. Harden

Tobi was born and raised in San Diego, California.  She completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Language Pathology in 1988 from Oakwood College, in Huntsville, Alabama through a consortium program with Alabama A & M University.  Tobi worked in the San Diego Unified School District as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant in 1989, before returning to graduate school in the fall of 1989 at Howard University, in Washington, DC. 
 
Tobi completed her Master of Science degree in 1991 under the Infant Specialization Program at Howard University and obtained her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) in 1992.  Tobi currently holds licensure in the states of Virginia and California.

Tobi has extensive experience with neurogenic based speech and language disorders in all areas of acute, sub acute, in and out-patient rehabilitation, and long term care to include disorders of aphasia, dysphagia, dysarthria, apraxia, trach and vents, and traumatic brain injuries through her employment in local hospitals in the northern Virginia and Washington, DC areas.

Currently, Tobi provides private speech-language therapy and contract speech therapy services, in a local school division in the northern Virginia area.  She specializes in language disorders and articulation therapy in the severely unintelligible child.
